The Heartland Story

From humble beginnings to a thriving community, Heartland Church has been a beacon of faith and fellowship since 1995. Join us as we reflect on our past and look forward to a bright future.

The original launch team of Heartland Community Church was comprised of ten families from Grace Church in Normal, IL.  Planning for Heartland began in mid-1994, and the church had its first Sunday service on March 19, 1995. Heartland met at University High School for over five years.

In July of 2000, Heartland moved into its new facility on N. Linden St. in Normal, IL.  Currently, we average 250 people in attendance of our weekend services.  Heartland continues to grow. In the summer of 2008, we expanded our parking lot. In 2011, we added an additional 6,000 sq. feet onto the south end of the building for our children and youth.

Heartland is part of the denomination of the Fellowship of Evangelical Churches.  For more information about the denomination, click here
