Topic: humility

And the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the LORD and served the Baals. 12 And they abandoned the LORD, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt. They went after other gods, from among the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed down to them. And they provoked the LORD to anger. 13 They abandoned the LORD and served the Baals and the Ashtaroth. Judges 2:11-13 (ESV)

For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.  22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
1 Corinthians 15:21-22 (ESV)

Humility – Humility is a genuine gratitude and lack of arrogance, having a modest view of one’s self. Humility is a critical and continuous emphasis of godliness.

Big Idea: Humility is required for godliness

Humility seeks to share and give away praise

“Most blessed of women be Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite, of tent-dwelling women most blessed. Judges 5:24 (ESV)

Humility Always comes back to God

Hear, O kings; give ear, O princes; to the LORD I will sing; I will make melody to the LORD, the God of Israel.  “LORD, when you went out from Seir, when you marched from the region of Edom, the earth trembled and the heavens dropped, yes, the clouds dropped water.” Judges 5:3-4 (ESV)
