Four Truths to Celebrate this Christmas

  1. We Desperately Need Christmas

10  as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; 11 no one understands; no one seeks for God. 12  All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” 13  “Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.” “The venom of asps is under their lips.” 14 “ Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.” 15  “Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16  in their paths are ruin and misery, 17  and the way of peace they have not known.” 18  “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Romans 3:10-18

  1. Christmas Offers Us a New Father!

12  But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, John 1:12

  1. Christmas Proclaims the Final Blow

The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8b

10  and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Revelation 20:10

Four Ways We Have Victory Over Satan

  • quoting scripture
  • remembering our new identity
  • wearing the right spiritual clothes
  1. Christmas Assures Our Current Afflictions Are Temporary

33  I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 2 Corinthians 4:17

With the First Gospel, we celebrate Christmas because we desperately need it, we have a new Father, we know the final victory is coming, and therefore this world’s troubles are only temporary.
