“Inspiring love that does whatever it takes to connect people to Jesus, build relationships, and transform our cities.”
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35 (ESV)
First, if we are going to Connect people to Jesus, it starts by connecting to people.
Three things people long for:
- Identity
- Belonging
- Purpose
How can we connect with people who are not like us?
- Look for common ground.
- Realize different people express their values differently.
- Humble yourself.
Second, if we are going to Connect people to Jesus, it involves sacrificial love.
Sacrificial Love = Agape Love
Third, when we agape love, we Connect with people in a way that is attractional.

- How is John 13:34-35 happening in your life?
- On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being high, how likely are you to invite people to Heartland Church or its activities to hear about Jesus?
