A People of Investment

February 25 2024

We give up small things (resources) for big dreams; honoring God with our time,  treasure and talents. We live empowered lives of purpose committed to making disciples. Everyone matters and we are committed to investing in each other’s lives!

19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where  moth and rust  destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your     treasure is, there your heart will be also. …24  “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and  money. Matthew 6:19-21, 24

 Honor God With Our Time And Talents

1 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, 2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, Philippians 2:1-5

Ways We Serve with Time and Talents

I’ll go where You want me to go, dear Lord; Real service is what I desire;

I’ll say what You want me to say, dear Lord—But don’t ask me to sing in the choir.

I’ll say what You want me to say, dear Lord; I like to see things come to pass;

But don’t ask me to teach girls and boys, dear Lord—I’d rather just stay in my class.

I’ll do what You want me to do, dear Lord; I yearn for the Kingdom to thrive;

I’ll give You my nickels and dimes, dear Lord—But please don’t ask me to tithe.

I’ll go where You want me to go, dear Lord; I’ll say what You want me to say;

I’m busy just now with myself, dear Lord—I’ll help You some other day.
