At some level, we all experience brokenness. At re:generation (re:gen), we believe that people can experience a new life by working through the healing path God has given us in the Bible. The mission of this biblically-based 12-step program is to connect imperfect people to God and to a community of growing Christ-followers. Our experience and prayer is that you will find God and healing, too.
Re:gen puts Jesus at the center of all healing and relies solely on God’s Word as its authority and counsel. We invite you to engage with Scripture, ultimately finding freedom from addictive behaviors, compulsive thinking and sin patterns.
We are an authentic community of Christ-followers – relentless in helping each other connect with God and experience a growing relationship with Him through new life in Christ – a regenerated life.
So, whether you are struggling with substance abuse, codependency, pornography, eating disorders, depression, emotional/physical abuse, same sex attraction, anger or obsessive thoughts – or if you are just stuck in a particular area of life, come as you are and find that God wants to heal you.
Again, re:gen is not just for the addict, it’s for everyone captured and broken by sin. Life is not about getting fixed; it’s about getting well through an intimate relationship with Jesus. That is what re:gen is all about. Even if you are skeptical of Christianity, you are welcome to come.
WHEN/WHERE DO WE MEET? We meet Mondays at Heartland Community Church in the student center from 6:30 – 8:30 PM. Enter through the main front entrance.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL NIGHT INCLUDE? At 6:30 PM, we meet as a large group to worship and listen to a testimony of someone who has walked through his or her own recovery, or listen to a short talk on a recovery issue. Everyone is invited to attend the large group meeting, even if you are not involved in a small group.
At 7:30, we break into small groups for sharing. New small groups are formed as need arises and as leaders are available. Contact the church office to find out when the next Step Study groups will be initiated. When a new group is formed, you will meet for Groundwork Orientation. The following week you will join a Groundwork Group. After you have completed Groundwork (7-10 weeks), you will be placed in a closed Step Study group of 15-20 people. (All groups are gender specific).
The whole re:gen program is about 11 months in duration. Once you get into a step study group, you will begin working through the step study curriculum which is rooted in Scripture, incorporating the 12 steps. (Your consistent attendance and daily prep time will be critical to your recovery). Our groups are not issue specific. (We do not break down into issue-specific groups because we want to focus on the causes behind all our sins.)
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PARTICIPATE? There is no cost for the program. The only monetary fee involved is to cover the step study books. There are 5 books total, the total cost is approximately $50.00. (Please do not let money be an issue. We will cover the cost if you are not able to pay.)
IS THERE CHILDCARE? Childcare is provided each Monday night of Regen.
